The Move For Hunger organization began after founder Adam Lowy realized how many people were in dire need of food, as he helped his mother move. He realized that relocating was a major source of waste and that a lot of food was thrown away that could offer help to some people. Thus, he teamed up with Apartment Association of New Jersey and began a food collection program where households can donate non-perishable items left in their cupboards.

With the help of Colonial Van and Storage, we transport donated items to local food banks which helps families and individuals that experience food shortages. Being the largest moving company in Walnut Creek CA, we are dedicated to putting unused items that still have a good life to help better other people’s lives.

As the need for food is rapidly increasing, Colonial Van and Storage offers its customers, clients, and employees a convenient drop-off location for all donations like canned vegetables, pasta, and grains which we will then deliver to the nearest food bank. By doing this, we are helping thousands of needy families in the area access a much-needed meal.
